About the department

The endoscopy department is located in building No. 3 in the left wing of the first floor (for patients referred by district clinics), as well as in building No. 1 on the 2nd floor (for inpatients and patients of the paid services office).

The endoscopic department includes:

  • 3 esophagogastroduodenoscopy rooms;
  • 2 colonoscopy rooms (including 1 room with a recovery room, designed for colonoscopy with intravenous sedation);
  • 2 rooms for processing endoscopic equipment and instruments;
  • 1 cabinet for storing equipment;
  • 2 doctor's offices;
  • premises for medical personnel: offices of the head of the department, senior nurse, doctor's office, nurses' room, sanitary and storage rooms.

To provide diagnostic endoscopic care, the department is assigned to the Oktyabrsky District polyclinics of Minsk (Nos. 3, 29, 35, 38)

The department is a clinical base of the Department of Emergency Surgery and Endoscopy of the Belarusian State Medical University.

The endoscopic department was opened in October 2024. It includes inpatient treatment rooms and an endoscopic center in the Oktyabrsky district of Minsk.

The department conducts both diagnostic endoscopic examinations (esophagogastroduodenoscopy, rectosigmocolonoscopy, bronchoscopy) and therapeutic interventions (biopsy, removal of foreign bodies, epithelial neoplasms, etc.).

IMPORTANT!!! Before colonoscopy, it is necessary to follow a diet excluding plant fiber for 5 days before the examination.

ALLOWED:

  • Flour products and rice: white bread, porridge (rice, oatmeal), baked goods, biscuits, bagels - without poppy seeds, plain crackers (without additives), vermicelli and noodles.
  • Meat: soups with low-fat meat broth; various well-cooked dishes from lean beef, veal; boiled chicken, also in the form of cutlets, meatballs, soufflé; eggs.
  • Fish: dishes made from cod, pike perch, perch, pike (lean fish).
  • Dairy products: calcium-rich foods (low-fat cottage cheese, cheeses), natural yogurt (no additives!), no more than 2 glasses of skim milk.
  • Vegetables: vegetable broths, potatoes (without skin).
  • Drinks: tea, weak coffee, compotes, jelly and juices, preferably clear (without pulp, dried fruits, berries and grains!).
  • Sweet: sugar, honey, jelly, syrup.
  • Perhaps cooking, as well as consuming oil (butter, vegetable), mayonnaise, margarine in limited quantities.

IT IS PROHIBITED:

  • Flour products and cereals: all grain-containing products (whole grain, products containing crushed grains, nuts, poppy seeds, coconut flakes, etc.), black bread, cereals (not included in the list of permitted), legumes, peas, lentils, etc.
  • Vegetables and fruits: all fresh and dried vegetables and fruits, cabbage in any form (both fresh and cooked), raisins and berries, especially those with small seeds (raspberries, blueberries), all types of greens (parsley, dill, lettuce, cilantro, basil, etc.).
  • Soups: cabbage soup and borscht, milk soups, cream soups, okroshka.
  • Meat, fish: fatty fish and meat, duck, goose, smoked meats, sausages, hot dogs.
  • Dairy products: yogurt containing fillers (fruit, muesli), pudding, cream, sour cream, ice cream, fatty cottage cheese.
  • Seasonings and preserves: hot seasonings (horseradish, pepper, mustard, onion, vinegar, garlic), as well as all seasonings (sauces) with grains, herbs, pickles, preserves, salted and marinated mushrooms, seaweed.
  • Get a referral for a colonoscopy at the clinic. Take tests 10 days before the examination: complete blood count, ECG, biochemistry, coagulogram.
  • You must follow a diet for 5-7 days before the examination.
  • The day before the examination: light breakfast before 12 o'clock (drinking yogurt, cottage cheese). After 12 o'clock any food intake is prohibited, but you can drink in any quantity.
  • From 4 to 9 pm, you need to drink a bowel cleansing drug (Fordrive/Fortrans/D-forjecta/Moviprep/Citraflit). Add Simethicone (Espumisan, Bobotik, Komfortik or similar) to the last glass of the drug - 30 ml of the drug (usually this is 1 bottle).
  • If you are taking antihypertensive medications (to lower blood pressure), you need to take them in the morning between 6:00 and 7:00, with 1-2 sips of water.
  • Before the procedure, you are prohibited from eating or drinking anything – this is important for the anesthesiologist!
  • Arrive at 8:00 at the scheduled admission department. Bring your passport, referral, coupon, outpatient card extract, tests, bed sheet and shoe covers.
  • After the colonoscopy, you will be under observation for at least 2 hours.
  • Preparation of 4 liters of solution: D-Forject, Fordrive, Fortrans.
    • · On the day before the examination. 16:00: Dissolve 4 sachets of the preparation in 4 liters of still drinking water according to the instructions. 16:00-21:00: drink 4 liters of the solution, 1 glass every 15-20 minutes. Add Simethicone (Espumisan, Bobotik, Komfortik or similar) to the last glass of the preparation - 30 ml of the preparation (usually this is 1 bottle).
  • Preparation with the drug "LAVAKOL"
    • · For good preparation, you will need 20 sachets, each of which is diluted individually with 200 ml of water (1 cup). As a result, 5 sachets correspond to 1 liter of solution. 20 sachets - 4 liters of solution. On the day before the study, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., we take 1 glass every 15-20 minutes, i.e. 1 liter in 1-1.5 hours. In the last glass of the drug, add Simethicone (Espumizan, Bobotik, Comfort or analogues) - 30 ml of the drug (as a rule, this is 1 bottle).
