About the department
The department provides highly qualified medical and diagnostic care, both in case of planned and emergency hospitalization of patients with purulent diseases, as well as diseases of the peripheral vascular system.
Historically, the beginning of the department's work was associated with the opening of the hospital in October 1922.
The department serves 9 city polyclinics for purulent surgery and 10 for outpatient surgery.
Up to 3,000 patients are treated at the department every year, and over 2,200 surgical procedures are performed.
The department performs laparoscopic surgeries:
- cholecystectomy;
- hernia repair;
- appendectomies;
- plastic surgery of esophageal hernias;
- hernia repair with polypropylene mesh for large ventral hernias.
The department performs cosmetic operations on the face and anterior abdominal wall, and has introduced laser technologies for the treatment of varicose veins, hemorrhoids, and benign skin growths.
In 2010, an Urban Minimally Invasive Surgery Center was established on the basis of the department, where, through the use of one-day surgery technologies, it was possible to reduce the duration of inpatient treatment.
