The department includes an interdistrict advisory otorhinolaryngological office (MCC), an interdistrict sign language (audiometric) office, an urban phoniatric office, which are located on the 2nd floor of the surgical building, and an emergency otorhinolaryngological care room on the 1st floor in the emergency department. The department's staff performs the full range of diagnostic studies and manipulations, determines indications for hospitalization, performs outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures, and prescribes treatment for patients at the outpatient and inpatient stages of treatment.

In recent years, the department has introduced and widely performed organ-preserving operations on ENT organs using microscopic, endoscopic and laser technology. The department performs more than 2.5 thousand inpatient surgical procedures and 2.5 outpatient operations per year.

Surgical interventions are performed using the most modern techniques, in accordance with international standards of medical care, and an excellent logistical base allows for performing surgical procedures at a very high level using endoscopic and microsurgical techniques, under the control of on-surgical neuromonitoring and neuron navigation.

The department provides services within the framework of weekend surgical interventions according to the order.

Otorhinolaryngological care in the Road Hospital has been provided since 1950 in the ENT room of the polyclinic. E.S. Valendo worked as a doctor at that time.

In 1954, 10 beds for ENT patients were allocated on the basis of the surgical department, and a GP doctor worked.Grinenko. In 1959, a 20-bed department was opened, and L.H.Matz worked as the head of the department. In subsequent years, the department was expanded to 60 beds, equipped with the necessary equipment, and surgical procedures were performed on the ear and sinuses.

The department was headed by Anosov A.P., Lischenko A.G., Vlasov B.A. Today, the department is the clinical base of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Educational Institution of Higher Education "BSMU".
