About the department

The Eye Microsurgery Department is located in the surgical building No. 2 in the left wing of the third floor.

The department has 30 beds. The department includes a laser diagnostic and consultative care room.

The department provides specialized care to the adult population of Minsk from the service area of 11; 15; 20; 29; 33; 35; 38 city polyclinics.

Patients of polyclinics geographically assigned to the institution (GP) are sent for consultation and examination to the office of laser diagnostic and advisory care at the 11th City Clinical Hospital in Minsk (hereinafter referred to as the LDCP office). №№ 11; 15; 20; 29; 33; 35; 38). Patients of other polyclinics in Minsk and nonresident citizens can undergo examination and consultation on a paid basis.

The office of the LDCP is located on the basis of the admission department and is located on the first floor of the surgical building at the address: Korzhenevsky St., 4.

Admission of patients is carried out by appointment with the referral of the territorial polyclinic. An appointment for a consultation is made by phone (8-017) 270-59-55 from 12-00 to 15-00, or by contacting the LDCP office in person. When making an appointment for a consultation, the patient is assigned the date and time of contacting the LDCP.

When applying for a consultation, the patient should have a clean handkerchief or disposable napkins, a mask, a change of shoes or shoe covers, which can be purchased at the entrance to the building.
The diagnostic process takes at least 1 hour, and if additional examinations are necessary, up to 2 hours.
If the patient is wearing soft contact lenses, it is recommended not to use them on the day of the examination.
After instillation of anesthetic eye drops, the sensitivity of the eyes can be reduced within 20-30 minutes, so you can not rub your eyes, as there is a high probability of damage to the cornea of the eye.

Types of surgical interventions in OMH:

Cataract removal by ultrasound phacoemulsification with intraocular correction with monofocal and multifocal IOLs.
Surgical treatment of glaucoma by sinustrabeculectomy (STE), non-penetrating deep sclerectomy (NGSE), with implantation of ExPress and Ahmed drainage devices.
Surgical treatment of strabismus (including step-by-step treatment).
Surgical treatment of conjunctival and eyelid diseases (papillomas, atheromas, cysts, lower eyelid inversion).
Surgical treatment of pterygium (including with implantation of limbal stem cells).
Surgical treatment of retinal detachment by extracleral filling.

The Eye Microsurgery department was established on the basis of the Minsk Railway Hospital.

Useful information

The most common complications in the main operations performed in the department, taking into account the nature of the disease, condition, syndrome and (or) their course and the individual characteristics of the patient's body:

wound complications (detachment of the membranes of the eye, bleeding, formation of hematomas, serous accumulations of fluids, infiltrates, damage to nearby organs and tissues);
thromboembolic complications;
the development of pain syndrome in the postoperative period;
infectious complications;
exacerbation of concomitant chronic pathology.
