About the department

Rehabilitation department No. 3 for traumatological and orthopedic patients is located on the 3rd floor of Building No. 3. The department has 60 beds and is designed to provide inpatient early and late medical rehabilitation for patients with orthopedic injuries.

The main purpose of the department is to fully or partially restore or reduce the severity of disability caused by injuries or orthopedic pathology, and to reduce the duration of disability.

Healthcare institutions assigned to the department for referral to hospital*:

  • outpatient clinics of Minsk;
  • specialized traumatology and orthopedic departments of inpatient institutions in Minsk;
  • Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics*;
  • State Institution "Republican Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus"*.

(*healthcare organizations of republican and departmental subordination refer residents of Minsk).

The referral of patients to the inpatient stage of rehabilitation is carried out taking into account the rehabilitation potential, medical indications for medical rehabilitation and the absence of medical contraindications for medical rehabilitation:

  • inpatient institutions - after completion of a course of intensive treatment and stabilization of vital functions of the body, medical rehabilitation at the treatment and rehabilitation stage in agreement with the head of the medical rehabilitation department;
  • outpatient and polyclinic institutions - by decision of the medical advisory committee in agreement with the head of the medical rehabilitation department.

Coordination is carried out by telephone and/or by submitting by mail (e-mail, fax) an extract from medical documents (epicrisis), which must contain the following information:

  • clinical and functional diagnosis of the main and concomitant diseases;
  • code of the underlying disease according to the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision;
  • objective status of the patient on the date of referral;
  • laboratory data (OAC, OAM, BAC), instrumental and other studies;
  • the treatment carried out and its results (indicating the therapeutic dose of basic therapy drugs received by the patient);
  • the medical rehabilitation measures carried out and their effectiveness;
  • rehabilitation potential.

When hospitalized, you must have with you:

  • referral to the inpatient stage of rehabilitation with the following information: clinical diagnosis: primary, complications, concomitant diseases; number and date of the VKK; duration of temporary disability, rehabilitation potential;
  • an extract from medical documents, including a full range of examinations in accordance with current clinical protocols for diagnosis and treatment for the main clinical diagnosis (the statute of limitations for laboratory tests (OAC, OAM, BAC) and ECG - no later than a week, the statute of limitations for fluorography - no later than 6 months);
  • passport (or other identity document).

The course of medical rehabilitation includes:

  • therapeutic physical training (LFK) (group classes with an instructor, mechanotherapy, occupational therapy);
  • physiotherapeutic treatment (PT) (electrical treatment, light and magnetic therapy, heat therapy, magnetic laser therapy, manual massage, etc.);
  • drug treatment (for medical reasons).
