About the department
Traumatology and orthopedics provides planned care to patients with diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
The department provides a wide range of modern diagnostic examination methods and surgical interventions using modern equipment for residents of Minsk, as well as for foreign citizens under an agreement with the clinic on a paid basis in the orthopedic and traumatology profile:
- Total hip arthroplasty with cemented and cementless fixation;
- Total knee arthroplasty;
- Therapeutic and diagnostic arthroscopy with meniscectomy of the knee joints;
- Surgical correction of flat feet, hallux valgus, hammertoe deformity;
- Removal of metal structures in case of healed fractures after previously performed bone metal osteosynthesis, including the use of pins, screws, cerclages;
- Resection of exostoses, removal of ossifications of various locations of the upper and lower extremities;
- Surgical treatment of chronic bursopathies, removal of soft tissue formations of the extremities.
After performing surgical intervention for joint replacement, all patients undergo a set of treatment and rehabilitation measures in accordance with the standards of the inpatient period of early rehabilitation.
Requirements for hospitalization
For hospitalization for the purpose of endoprosthetics surgery, it is necessary to undergo preliminary examination in a polyclinic (outpatient) setting. It is necessary to remember that joint prosthetics is a complex high-tech operation and it requires careful preparation.
Please note: patients in need of large joint replacement in Minsk are placed on the waiting list in the consultation room of the Health Institution “6th City Clinical Hospital” upon referral from the clinic’s traumatologist.
When hospitalized, please have with you:
for the purpose of performing surgical intervention (operation):
- Passport (identification card);
- Referral from the clinic for hospitalization;
- X-ray images on film or paper (printed) media;
- Laboratory tests (not older than 10 days): complete blood count, complete urine analysis, blood glucose, biochemical blood test (total protein, bilirubin, transaminases, urea, K, Ca, Na, Cl, amylase), coagulogram, PTI (prothrombin index), RW (Wasserman reaction);
- ECG;
- Conclusion from the therapist's consultation;
- In patients with diabetes mellitus, a glycated hemoglobin test;
- Data on chest x-ray or fluorography (over the last six months);
- Vaccination data;
- Gynecological examination (for women);
- PCR (smear) for COVID-19 (performed according to indications).
for the purpose of endoprosthetics of large joints:
- Passport (identification card);
- Referral from the clinic for hospitalization;
- Documents confirming that you are on the waiting list for endoprosthetics (call for hospitalization and/or minutes of the endoprosthetics committee meeting);
- X-ray images of the hip joint (not more than 3 months old), preferably on film;
- Densitometry data;
- Laboratory tests (not older than 10 days): complete blood count, complete urine analysis, blood glucose, biochemical blood test (total protein, bilirubin, transaminases, urea, K, Ca, Na, Cl, amylase), coagulogram, PTI (prothrombin index), RW (Wasserman reaction);
- ECG;
- Conclusion from the therapist's consultation;
- In patients with diabetes mellitus, a glycated hemoglobin test;
- Data on chest x-ray or fluorography (over the last six months);
- Ultrasound of the veins of the lower extremities;
- FGDS;
- Vaccination data;
- Gynecological examination (for women);
- Dental examination;
- Examination by an otolaryngologist (ENT);
- PCR (smear) for COVID-19 (performed according to indications).
